The transport sector is a vital enabler of South Africa’s economy, connecting people, goods, and services across the country. However, it is also a sector that faces challenges such as limited youth participation, sustainability concerns, and the need for innovation in areas such as logistics, technology, and mobility solutions.

As the country places growing emphasis on youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, it is critical to create platforms that position young people as active participants and innovators in the transport value chain. From logistics and ride-hailing to aviation, shipping, and sustainable transport, young South Africans are stepping up with bold ideas — but many still lack visibility, resources, and access to industry opportunities.

The Top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards (YOBA), known for celebrating and empowering youth-led businesses, is proud to host the Young People in Transport Seminar. This platform will bring together young entrepreneurs, policymakers, industry experts, and investors to explore the role of youth in shaping the future of transport. The seminar will take place on 30 October 2025, from 09:30 to 12:00, in alignment with Transport Month, a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of transport and its role in economic growth and social development.
